Looking for a candidate

As I continue to read the newspaper daily I become more and more absorbed in the political theater taking place across the country. Personally, I have no idea who to vote for. There are a multitude of candidates like never before. Many are hard to differentiate from each other as their policies only slightly differ. This goes for both the Democrats and the Republicans. I keep hearing about campaign contributions, health care, the war in Iraq (and Afghanistan) and all the other issues and I still don't know who is for what and what this should mean to me as a voter. Am I the only person who feels so confused by the system we use to elect politicians? Shouldn't there be a simpler method? And will any of it even matter if the election gets rigged or if the electoral college comes into play and makes a mockery of the popular vote?

Hey my name is joe and my friends call me hurt hurt because i am an orangatang, but anyways i agree with you when it comes to picking sides whith presidentual canidates. It not like any of the choices you have is any good and they make choose for one or the other. Its like a bad day in the cafiteria when all they have is either brown slop with a side of nast potatos or a shrivled slice of pizza, they both not appitizing but then again you have to eat. So as an american i choose not to vote because when i do i never know who i am voting for i end up just pushing random tabs and voting third parties.

No- I am not confused by the method in which we elect politicians. However, I do agree with your statement about knowing who to vote for. Personally, I can not tell you the difference in policy between Hillary Clinton and another democratic nominee, such as Barack Obama. Secondly, why is that there are always two close runners in each party, and why do the other several politicians (from the same party) who are not close in the running even bother to spend money on a campaign, are they just stubborn or hopelessly blinded? (Reference to Al Sharpton, Denis Kucinich).

I see no viable options for president in this campaign, and i really hope that neither obama nor hillary wins, for both of them represent their own distinct slice of the american pie, but not a shared vision of america. Also, people's votes do not even count because of the electoral college, the dumbest policy instituted for an uneducated american public during the founding of this country

There should be a popular vote. Plain and simple. Electoral collage is not necessary.
